I will be leading a trail maintenance and ride day on the Wilson River Trail (WRT).  We will plan to meet at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse for car pooling at 9:00am.  We will access the WRT near Keenig Creek Trailhead from Cedar Butte Road and clear as many of the small trees and branches from the trail working east towards the Footbridge Trailhead.  You may recall from my earlier posts that this section of trail had quite a bit of blow down and wash outs from the winter storms.

The second TRAC meeting will take place the evening of Thursday May 15th at the Forest Grove ODF office located at 801 Gales Creek Road.  The public is welcome to attend this meeting - your presence is appreciated!  The TRAC charter and the second party Recreation Assessment will be discussed at this meeting.

If you are unable to attend, but have mountain bike related comments/issues that you would like TRAC to address, please let me know.

The 2nd Tillamook Recreation Advisory Committee (TRAC) Meeting will take place on Thursday May 15, 2008.  TRAC meetings are open to the public, so feel free to come if you would like to voice your comments to ODF regarding mountain bike recreational access in the Tillamook State Forest.  If you are unable to come, please let me know if you have comments/concerns that you would like me to share.

This PUMP member had a BIG day in the Tillamook State Forest (Beginner SOLV cleanup in the snow, intermediate presentation on climate change, and gonzo ride with snow/trees/wash outs on the Wilson River Trail).

Thursday evening (Feb. 28, 2008) was the first Tillamook State Forest Advisory Committee (TRAC) meeting of 2008.  I was selected by the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) to represent the mountain bike community on this committee.  The appointment is for two years.  Let me know if you have mountain bike recreation related issues in the Tillamook State Forest that you would like brought to the attention of ODF staff.  The meetings are open to the public, so feel free to attend and voice your issue personally.
