Portland

getting dirty after a loooong hiatus, looking4 ride partners (forum)

Hi, people. I've been a little hyperfocused on road riding and racing for the past 10 years and forgot I had a mountain bike. Forgive me. I have been shown the error of my ways, though my old Kona Lava Dome was unforgiving. He is now being coverted to a single speed, and I've just spent some time falling in love with dirt on my new 29er in Moab and Fruita. There was SUN there! You remember sun? That warm, orange-ish thing in the sky?

Gas Prices (forum)

How have the high gas prices are affecting the club? Cecily and I already ride to work every day but we have found that we are rethinking going on long day trips on the weekend to mountain bike, and rather we are going road riding or running or mountain biking nearer to town.

Are you commuting more?

Are you mountain biking as much?

What other activities are you doing that might burn less dinosaur bones?

Memorial Weekend Roger's/Brown's Camp Ride (forum)

Given all the wonderful weather we'd been experiencing, we were all surprised and disappointed by the rainfall we experienced the Saturday night prior to this scheduled ride.  Shane's Enduro ride had some spots that were more prone to uber-mub, so he called his ride. JD and I decided to go ahead with the Classic Ride as we had 17 riders signed up  we were hopeful that the trails would be ok this early in the ride season.

Gateway Greenway (forum)

BikePortland.org recently posted a article about the new Gateway Greenway. http://bikeportland.org/2008/05/20/an-exciting-vision-for-bikes-at-gateway-green/
This could be a really exciting project. Here is my response please add your remarks to the BikePortland.org or here.
