Hood River

Post Canyon (forum)

Five of us met up for a ride at Post Canyon on Sunday afternoon.  We saw two other PUMP members headed down the hill as we were climbing up.

Post Canyon Ride (event)

05/04/2008 - 11:00am
05/04/2008 - 5:30pm

We will ride for a few hours and wait for all riders at trail junctions.  Please bring food, water, and appropriate clothing.  A change of clothes for the ride home is also recommended.  We should be back in Portland between 5-6pm.

We will be carpooling from Gateway Transit Center, leaving at 11am.  See the map for the parking lot location, it is the one that is not near the parking garage and does not have gates.  We will be at the trailhead around 11:30am.

Hood River Trails Survey (story)

The Hood River County Forestry Department wants you input on the trails in the Hood River Valley.
Please take the time to fill out the survey.

Please also pass this on to anyone that you know who has ever ridden in the Hood River area or ever plans to.

Sunday's Sinful Syncline Ride (event)

04/13/2008 - 10:00am
04/13/2008 - 4:00pm

Okay, so really nothing will be sinful about this day or ride.  It should be a delightful time with great folks.  Come on out and ride with us.  Meet up with friends from last year's riding season that have been in hibernation and meet new friends too!  The time to ride is now!

A fun day riding at Syncline.  And to think, I've never been to Syncline before - that is likely the true sin here!  But, there is going to be some fine folks on hand that have knowledge of the trails.  Judging by Jordan's forum post, the conditions are primo right now.

Syncline is ripping (forum)

Cecily and I rode out in Syncline today. The weather east of the mountains was nice, partly cloudy with some wind. We rode up the main fire road and then a long the ridge to until we reached a trail that dropped down along a cliff to the Catherine Creek Parking area. This trail, that I don't know the name was steep and challenging with a muddy off-clamber top section and a much rockier lower section along the cliff face. The exposure was pretty high in places.
