Event Helpers
Ok, who is helping ?
Seems we don't have the services of past event organizer (Bryan P.) who did such a great job on single handedly planning everything from Routes to Maps to bringing and stashing treats at resupply points (heck I think he even rode for people).
I'll be there with 15 gallons of Water, some tools, first aid kit, misc bike parts and ready to lead a ride. I'll bring my QuickShade PopUp and a cooler with ice.
We need...
_ Ride Leaders (begineer to gonzo)
_ Maps
_ Treats
_ Drinks (Water, Juices, Gatoraid. Pop...)
_ PUMP Banner, stickers, brouchers, membership...
_ Ride Sign Out/In Emergency contact Info sheets
_ Camp Chairs
John aka Skibaru
not quite leading, but...
I'll ride sweep for 1, 2, or 3.

Overnight
sheets and snacks
This is my introduction to PUMP, and I'm looking forward to #3. I'll bring the sing in/out emergency sheets, unless there is some kind of PUMP specific sheet that you are referring to.
My wife makes killer home made snacks, and will be glad to contribute.
Any idea how many people are going to this?

I'd say eightmile is a nicer
Option #4
I'm interested in option #4 (the "epic ride"). Any takers?

camp plans
Campout
Kelley
We camp out at 8mile C. at the last Wild ride. It's a great site with shade. A favorite spot for the fishermen because of the trouts in season at the creek after talking with some of them. The singletrack ride up to Knebal is very sweet, like Ryan T. said. I also plan to campout on Fri. and Sat. nights.Hopefully it's not filled with fishermen. Any carpoolers? If the temp. is not too much I'll do Option 4 too.
Eightmile is the place to camp
The consensus seems to be eightmile campground. I will be there on Friday early evening.
Shane
I'll be there!
It's going to be beautiful up there...
Here are just some of the flowers that are blooming up there right now:
balsamroot
bunchberry
cascade lilies (the big easter-lily-lookin' things)
columbine (just a few)
deerbrush
false lily-of-the-valley
larkspur
lupine
paintbrush
skyrocket
spotted coral root (orchids!)
vetch
roses
We should catch the patch of mountain bluebell near the top of Surveyor's too. :)

carpool
mt hood ride
Yes I'd like to carpool from Portland on Saturday morning. I live in NE, Hollywood area and would want to leave on the early side - maybe 7-8ish - and get back by Saturday evening. Does this work for you?
-Colin
CARPOOL:
Meet at Gateway Transit Center, about 8am sharp, or so. We'll figure it out from there.

Night ride?
Carpol
For those of you who live in Portland and want to carpool let me know. I live on the way to hood river (Gresham) and we could easily meet somewhere right off of I-84 in the troutdale area. I have a bike rack for two on my car so I would be more then happy to give someone a ride or chip in some money for gas if I ride with someone else. Let me know.

48+ mile loop option - Any takers?
I am still interested in the 48+ mile loop option described on the posting. So far I have only heard from Stan who is also up for it. Any takers? Trying to get a gameplan together in advance for Saturday morning....

Singlespeeding on Sunday/carpool
Is anybody S/S on Sunday? I'm bringing my 32/18 S/S 29er to ride on Sun. Any good trails for doing that? I can slowly chug up Springville in Forest Park if thats any good indication. If anybody wants to give a ride to 1 rider/2bikes on Fri., I'll take it otherwise I'll drive and can pick up one more person after I finish my work in Troutdale which would be about 4pm.

Weather Alert for Saturday
Bring extra extra water for your Sat. ride. It's going to be in the 90s. I'll bring a few more gallons.

Friday through Sunday
We're rolling out Friday and will try to get a spot @8mile. Failing that, we'll try kneibel. We = Me (Charlie) & my wife (Amy) plus 2 kids (age 3 & 5). Our plan is to send Amy out for the Saturday Combined Knebal Springs & 8-Mile Creek Loops ride and I'll do something Sunday. If anyone's around, I'd be all over 15 mile trail. I roll on a SS (34x18) while Amy has gears. Unfortunately, with us+kids+gear, the car is full.
See you out there & we look forward to meeting everyone.

Spots at Eightmile
We should have spots at eightmile. One person is heading out in the morning. With young kids you may want to grab your own. We are typically around the campfire until midnight.
15 mile on a single speed!! That climb is rough on a geared bike.

>> Is anybody S/S on Sunday? I'm bringing my 32/18 S/S 29er
>I'd be all over 15 mile trail. I roll on a SS (34x18)
I'll be there Saturday with my SS (a 34x20 26'er). Knebal, Bottle Prarie, 8-Mile and lower part of 450 trail over to 15 Mile Camp are all great SS rides. Although I have done them all in the past running a 34x18 ... nope, I'm keeping the 20.
I wouldn't want to climb the Upper part of 450 on a SS and I think the 15 Mile/Cedar loop are (for me) just not worth it no matter what gear or gears.
See ya tomorrow!

yahoo!
I'd like to do either Surveyor's Ridge or the Combined Loop, is anyone else doing that?
Also does anyone want to carpool from Portland, leaving early Sat. morning and coming back Sat. afternoon/evening?
