MRT!

Quick Recap:

It was hot.  I paid the Lava Bed Blood Tax.  I got passed by a runner.  When the ride was over, I sat in the creek.  People fed me.  We drank tequila.  All in all, a fantastic time!  Thanks, PIMPsters.

I'll Second That Post!

Wow. Yet another amazing PUMP MRT weekend! We saw snow where its not been seen before ... rivers and waterfalls rushing where dry rock previously ruled. Muy caliente.

JD and I took a lot of pictures. Most of them turned out well. I am currently in edit mode and will post the best of the best to our club Flickr account in the next day or three.

thanks everybody

The MRT was my first event and I had a blast. Ya might say it was a real 'blow out' (really only funny if you realize that I'm the one that had the shock malfunction).

I'll be sure to stay the whole weekend next time. Again, thanks for making me welcome.

Unscathed

Opting for an out and back to minimize my lava exposure, I managed not to pay the blood tax or sacrifice any components to the bicycle gods.

I'd like to thank Gabrielle and Dallas for doing both of those for me this year :)

The Lava was FUN!

I thought the Lava was the most fun part of the trail.  So much so I did it three times.  That was a great ride.

Fred

The highlight of MRT-Masseuse

Yes, fun fun for all!

Friday's backcountry tour up to Castle Rock was a hoot.

Chris Brenan's and Boston Mike's nausiating pace from the bottom to top and back on MRT was incredible.

The road ride up 212(?) on sunday was beautiful.

But the massage on sunday afternoon was priceless.

90 minutes of bliss from the best masseuse I've ever had (out of ~25).  I'm making that a tradition, but next year I'm setting it up for saturday.  Can't recommend her enough:

Someday I'll spend more time on the bike insteead of my silly windsurfing gear, and actually learn how to ride the technical stuff.  That was one good ride, and I enjoyed spending the weekend with so many fun people.   Even if I did miss good wind, it would have been worth the trip.
