Gas Prices

How have the high gas prices are affecting the club? Cecily and I already ride to work every day but we have found that we are rethinking going on long day trips on the weekend to mountain bike, and rather we are going road riding or running or mountain biking nearer to town.
Are you commuting more?
Are you mountain biking as much?
What other activities are you doing that might burn less dinosaur bones?
BTW Some a-hole stole a 1/2 tank of gas from my truck yesterday while I was at work and my truck was at home. Needless to say I bought a locking gas cap afterwards.

I also have the luxury of biking into work, and as unpleasant as the rain can be on an 8 mile ride, it beats paying $4.15/gallon to go to work. I biked to work and carpooled long before it became "cool" but it is still an adjustment. I have noticed on PUMP trips (Kudos to the ride leaders) that people are putting more effort to fit as many in one car as possible. Sure, it gets cozy, but carpooling is more fun.
Windsurfing is a different story because of the amount of gear involved. Two people in one vehicle is normally the limit, but that still cuts the cost of gas in half. Many of the windsurfers who used to avoid carpooling because of "the hassle" are being more open to it.
Windsurfing and mountain biking are two very important things in my life, and I do need to budget accordingly. I would rather spend the $40 on a tank of gas for an epic day than $40 on drinks and food on a Wednesday night happy hour. It's a trade off, and it takes adjusting finances.
