One of the neighbors in Scappoose has organized a SOLV Earth Day cleanup for the Scappoose / Rocky Point  area, her forum post with all of the details is posted below.

I live off of Skyline, close to the top of Rocky Point Road, and frequently see you as you ride off from the blue gates along there. Saturday, April 19th, is our annual SOLV cleanup day along the roads here and I would like to invite you to join us in cleaning up our area. Our group usually cleans Skyline from Logie Trail to Rocky Point, all of Moreland Rd, and all of Rocky Point. What I would propose is that your group does Rocky Point for us. I would be happy to meet you at the top of Rocky Point at 9:00am the morning of the 19th with SOLV bags and waivers. Our group would come through later on in the day and pick up the filled bags and dispose of them. Help us keep the area beautiful for all of us! Please let me know if you would like to be involved.

Thanks for your attention,

Please respect the trails and the fact that we have built them in the homes of the wild creatures.

John Joy and I joined other folks from the area for the SOLV cleanup.  The two of us worked probably about half the length of Rocky Point Rd.  I am amazed at how much trash gets thrown out.  The first place we stopped, John started walking uphill as I told him I saw some garbage just down off the side of the hill.  By the time he got back, I had pulled 5 full 5gal containers of paint up this hill (that was a good workout) two of which were oil based.  Two others were partially full and leaking and were oil based as well.  Several empty ones... and that was the first spot.  I figure NEGATIVE Kharma will catch up with whoever tossed that stuff out.

John might remember how many bags we filled... maybe 3-4 each.  The other people were working up a storm as well and when called it a day there were three heaping loads in full sized pickups that we saw.  They were also people working on Skyline and Moreland Rd.  I am sure others working in all the other area where PUMP members worked found lots of stuff in their volunteer efforts as well.  Thanks to all of you for all the stuff "we will never see" next to the roadway.  Oh yeah.  The snow and sleet was fun.  A good day for Oregon.  Tomorrow the Mudslinger.  Should be COLD and FUN!!!!
