New to area, looking for Sunday ride partners, Intermediate

Hello,

Just moved to area and am completely unfamiliar with the mtn. biking scene and looking for some good folks to show some of the great area riding. Am Intermediate/Advanced, but rusty as I have not ridden since October. Looking to ride with folks on Sundays or possibly Saturdays, 1-2 hours

PUMP looks like a great organization and looking forward to the club.

 Please contact if interested!

 Thanks,

Marc A.

Welcome

Welcome to Portland.  There is a ride scheduled this Sunday as intermediate.  We should have more weekend rides scheduled soon.  It has been a wet and snowy winter.  Many of the early season trails that would be clear by now are still under snow.

Welcome to PUMP!

HINT - The trick is get involved as soon as you can.  There are monthly meeting (w/ beer!), several workparties, and group rides.  I commend you for reaching out to find riding partners, that is the first step.  By getting involved you will find similar skilled riders that you connect with and eventualy bond with.  I hope to meet you at a future PUMP event.  See you on the trails!

Also ~ If you are intermidate rider you might concider doing the Scappoose Rides. The trail is great for testing your bike handling skills.

Scappoose

I would suggest going with someone who knows the trails in Scappoose the first time.  There are no maps and there will not be any published.  It is on private land and part of the agreement is no maps.  John Joy leads a ride out there every Friday if you can make it by 6 PM.

Wednesday Night Forest Park Rides

Wednesday Night Forest Park Rides are a great introduction to the club.  They meet @ 5:30 @ the Thurman gate entrance to Forest Park.  The rides end up beeing mostly on firelanes (a reality of forest park) but are great for some excersise mid-week.

Welcome!

Yes, I agree with above.  Check out the ride calendar.  Our next monthly meeting is coming up in a little over a week, it is a great opportunity to meet up and socialize with other local mountain bikers.  There are folks that ride in the club almost every day of the week.  Its just a matter of getting to know them and coordinating rides.  Hope to ride with you soon at an event!

Thank you!

Hi,

Thank you for all the helpful comments! Weekday rides and Saturdays are usually out for me, but anything on Sunday, I would be all over it!.

If anyone is riding on Sundays, I would be very interested!

Thanks,

Marc A.
