Mt Talbert flickr photos

I am posting photos that I took today (4/9/08) at Mount Talbert park - south-east of Clackamas Town Center.  I am showing a little known, fairly small regional natural park purchased by Metro bond funds.  See: http://www.metro-region.org/index.cfm/go/by.web/id=22177 for more information on this pretty spot.  At the Mather street entrance I saw several patches of Erythronium oregonum (Oregon fawn lily).  This is a common plant in Oregon which is rare within the city limits of Portland and is - apparently - the reason the city parks department doesn't want mountain bikers at Kelly Butte since there is apparently a small population on that butte as well.

I was on Mount Talbert today doing some geocaching and was interested in the trail system up there.  So, check out flickr for those photos.

Mt Talbert

Looks like a nice decent sized park.. & that picture of the fawn lilly is great.

Here's a link to the pictures (I had to look around a bit to find them): http://www.flickr.com/photos/ujelang/archives/date-posted/2008/04/09/

I noticed that "Dogs and bikes are not permitted." according to metro's site.

Yes, I forgot to mention that Dogs and Bikes are not permitted in the park.

The photos can also be see in the Portland United Mountain Pedalers (pump) flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/pump/pool/

geocache site!

Here's a photo of a board walk that crosses a semi wet area.  There's also a (hidden) geocache in the photo.
