Scappoose Trail Signs -

I was riding Scappoose yesterday and I notices the trail signes/markers have been removed and are stacked up in piles.  Whats up? Did we do something to upset Longview Fiber?  Does the site steward need to contact Longview Fiber and do some PR work?

FYI - With the recent snow Scappoose Trail was a slick and muddy.  But fun...

#2 question - I had heard that a map of Scappoose trails was in the process of being made.  Will that be published on the PUMP website?

Signs and maps

John Joy removed the signs, because of concern about the bolts in the trees causing damage to the cutting equipment of loggers. He is expecting future logging at some time. Remember it is a working private forest.

There was a map made for the SSPS2, but it will not be distributed on the web out of respect to the land owner Longview Fiber. A part of the rules of riding there is not to distribute maps of their property.

Stakes?

We could put the signs on wooden stakes.  That'd be harmless to the logging ..

Various people are in the

Various people are in the process of making their own maps. They aren't going to be published, or I should say they better not be published.

It's an unwritten rule that trails on private land don't get published. The land owners usually don't mind us riding around, but they don't like their stuff in print. I don't think the land owner's lawyers like that too much.

String for the sings?

Can we just tie the signs on to the trees? A few holes in the sign and some zip tie action could have those things back up.

We could even hang the signs from tree branches. I don't think we need to put any more holes in the trees.
