spsSuccess! Great (r)ides had by all

SPSS # 2 Hardware

Turnout was estimated at 50 people for the SPSS #2 (R)ides of March event! Riders from Bend, Eugene, Lonview, and Vancouver, BC joined in with the Portland area mountain bikers. The weather treated us to both sunshine and liquid sunshine. Demo bikes were on hand thanks to Kona!

After everyone was rounded up the (r)ides began. Hammer heads, beginners, and everyone in between broke into smaller groups each lead by a PUMP member familiar with the trails. Trails were sampled and re-sampled until the mid-ride snack break.

Having fueled themselves on shamrock cookies and hot coffee, the speediest of riders tested their stamina in a just-for-fun mountain bike time trial. The top three (above photo) received the coveted SPSS medals of honor. A big thanks to Aaron for creating the medals.

Those that hadn't quite had their fill of single track made their way to the Headhunter portion of the trail network. As a single group we finished out the ride through steaming forest as the sun waved us farewell.

Approximately 20 folks stopped in to Ixtapa for a post ride meal with new and old friends and jubilantly recounted the day's adventures.
