Approximately 22 to 25 mile loop. Begins with a six-mile strenuous climb then is a mix of rolling hills, and some short climbs. There is a section of baby heads and some larger rock to traverse on a fast and reasonably steep descent. This is not a beginners ride. You need solid skills and at least moderate aerobic capacity.
First annual ride exploring some of Hillsboro's inner city parks plus learning basic bicycle road safety. Bring the whole family for this easy ride. Volunteers and refreshments at each stop. All participants are encouraged to visit the Civic Center Plaza upon completing the ride for more refreshments and let the kids romp in the fountains. For more information e-mail TourdeParks@comcast.net.

The Washington Deparment of Natural Resouces is planning a work session to get this fine trail cleared after a few years of neglect. Last year's wind storms wreaked havok on the upper sections. They will provide a saw operator and are looking for volunteers to swamp for the sawyer and help with brushing and treadwork.
Three Corner Rock is a great trail close to the Portland-Vancouver area and is in need of some love and attention.

There's a trail system that weaves around through LaCamas Lake Park and Round Lake Park just outside of Vancouver (between Vancouver and Camas).
It's a great place to get some morning fresh air and crank out some aerobic conditioning. Some hill repeats are in the works too...
Anyway, if anyone wants to log about 2 hours of Friday morning riding at a 'brisk pace', please contact Chris at northofcolumbia@yahoo.com
Riding at 5min to 9!

JD and I are riding the fantastic Storey Burn/Roger's Camp/Gales Creek ride in the Tilly tomorrow. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome to. The three trails combine into an awesome ride that gives you a great variety of fun trail in one ride: Flowey, rooty, tight, twisty, technical, "up," and "down" 18 miles that you end with a rippin' 4+ miles of crazy bugs-in-your-teeth downhill.
Come join us for this 40 mile "Capitol Punshiment" ride. We have this one honed to almost perfection. This ride has just about everything to offer from buff singeltrack to a twisty, rooty, burmed downhill off the top of Capitol Peak. The climbs aren't long or steep but expect to climb a lot.

Sorry this is so late, but I wanted to get it up in case anybody that I don't have their contact info for, and wants to go, doesn't feel left out.
We are meeting at the gateway TC at 9am.
The ride: lots and lots of switchbacks! I have never done this ride before, but hear it is a grunt, so be prepared to climb. By looking at the people interested so far it will be at a pretty fast pace. Also, we will be doing the ride as an out and back not a loop as indicated in the description below.
This Sunday is potentially my last ride day of the season (let's hope for no rain for Barbie Camp!). I can't make up my mind what I want to ride, so...I'll decide Sunday morning. :)
-->if it's raining Sunday morning, no ride.<--
Meet spot: Gateway Transit Center
Meet time: 8 am. We'll make a decision, load bikes, & be on our way by 8:30. Arrive later than that & you'll miss us.
Please join Portland Parks and Recreation, Friends of Powell Butte, and
Portland United Mountain Pedalers for a volunteer work party from 9am-noon
this Saturday, October 11. Meet in the main parking lot.
We will be readying the trails for winter by removing debris and organic
material from the trails, as well as cleaning culverts. What could be more
fun on a Saturday morning?
