There will be a work party on the Ape Canyon Trail at Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument on Sunday, August 3. Bring nippers, limbing saw, or similar tool that will fit in your backpack. Bring your camera and enough food and fluid to last the day. There is an excellent chance that we will be able to get the trail work done and still have plenty of time to ride across the Plains toward the ladders. This is a great opportunity to get up on the mountain. Start: 8:00 am

We'll be putting in a full day of work on the Smith Creek Trail in our attempt to get it rideable in advance of the Labor Day loop ride. Expect to ride 10 miles before work begins and a fun, fast descent in to Smith Creek! After working all day expect a 1500' climb out of Smith Creek before heading back to the cars. We've got lot's of work to do! We really need volunteers for next weekend's work party though. Meet at the Marble Mountain Snow Park, north-east of Cougar, WA at 7:30A. We leave there at 8:00A. I am planning on taking a week from Aug. 17 - Aug. 23 to do a road trip up to Whister BC with my bike and my dog. I have never been there, but I figure it won't be hard to find some phenomonal riding. I am going to be camping and doing a budget trip. If anyone is interested in joining me for the adventure give me a shout. | ||

I'm thinking of traveling down to Diamond Lake to do the NW CHallenge XC race. I've heard mixed reviews about this race from last year's participants. I also hear the trails are great and the views stunning. Looking for riders who want to go down Friday and return Sunday that weekend.
