The Mount St Helens Institute, www.mshinstitute.org, is holding a work party at the Trail of Two Forests and Ape Cave on the south side of Mount St Helens. Work will include clearing storm debris and repairing hiking trails and facilities at Ape Cave. Meet with work gloves at Trail of Two Forests parking lot at 09:00. Recently there was an OBRA xc mtb race at Bear Springs Trap which is in the McCubbins Gulch area off Hwy 216 just past the junction of Hwy 216 and Hwy 26. The trailhead parking area is a Northwest Forest Pass permit area about 19 miles from Goverment Camp. The meeting spot for this ride will be the Huckelberry Inn restaurant right in the main village area of Government Camp on Government Camp Loop road. We will meet at Huckelberry Inn at 10am and carpool out to the trailhead (about 19 miles away). | ||
